An environment for learning

Our educational environment is designed to inspire curiosity, enable excellence, and feel like a second home to students.

A great deal of work has been undertaken to research and develop our School’s Master Plan and ensure that it is conducive to further enhancing our positive culture, our educational and co-curricular offerings, and our care for the individual.

Our aim is to ensure that our staff and students are provided with the best resources in which to operate.

To support this, our classrooms are designed with each stage of learning in mind from the colourful, playful surrounds of the 鶹Ƶ to the light-filled Eblana Campus for our primary years (Foundation – Year 4), our innovative Greenways Campus for Year 9, and the bright and open Senior Years Learning Centre.

Key spaces

Bayview Precinct

In the leadup to our Centenary in 2023, we launched the most ambitious phase in the development of our Master Plan to date with the new Bayview Precinct for students in Years 7 & 8 due for completion by Term 2 of 2024.

This outstanding development will include 20 spacious, light filled classrooms, cozy lounge areas, together with breakout spaces for group work, and comfy alcoves for quiet reading. The lower level includes a multipurpose gym and presentation space, combined with beautiful changing areas including extensive private facilities. The building includes a dedicated science lab and rooftop terrace for environmental studies, as well as indoor-outdoor spaces to enhance the learning and teaching experience. This will be a truly remarkable development.

Bayview Precinct Flythrough

We are delighted to share the flythrough video of the forthcoming Bayview Precinct.

As the most significant development in the history of the School, we are incredibly grateful to everyone who has been involved in the evolution of this exciting educational resource.

Creativity Centre

鶹Ƶ has a deserving reputation as a leader in the visual and performing arts with an events calendar filled with extraordinary productions. The Creativity Centre is an outstanding facility which includes a 450-seat professional theatre, together with light-filled purpose designed visual arts studios for painting, sculpture, drawing, digital photography, printmaking and visual communication design.

Specialist labs provide advanced technology studies in robotics, animation, 3D printing, materials technology, and food technology. In addition, the Centre includes a recording studio which is part of an extensive music school, combined with drama and dance studios, as well as passive and active learning zones and courtyards, all surrounding a stunning gallery space.

The spacious Greenways building provides dedicated spaces for our exclusive Year 9 program. The building features bright open classrooms, including an auditorium meeting space for group gatherings. A major feature of the building is the Greenways Café which is operated by groups of Year 9 students throughout the year as they learn practical skills from food prep and barista training to marketing, financial management and customer service.

Keith Jones Learning Centre

The Keith Jones Learning Centre houses our Riviera Campus for students in Years 5 & 6. This exciting space has been purpose-built for our middle years students to practice their independence and cultivate their interests, while enabling teachers to continue to provide the structure and support needed during these formative years. The Centre consists of eight light-filled classrooms, a reading lounge, breakout spaces, a multipurpose performance auditorium and an outdoor learning deck.

A professional film studio, green screen and recording booths provide the facilities to incorporate invaluable digital media skills into the curriculum, enabling students to create video blogs, VoxPops, together with music and short films to complement their learning. The Keith Jones Learning Centre is emblematic of a new era in primary education, better preparing students for a running start into their senior years.

The School boasts two substantial libraries, the Gregory Fish Library for Senior students and the Finlay Anderson Library for Junior students. Both libraries include extensive collections of books and electronic materials to support the learning and teaching program at each age and stage of development, as well as lounge spaces and breakout spaces for group work and research.

Science Centre

Our students love learning science in our state-of-the-art Science and Environmental Studies Centre. Setting a new benchmark for science facilities in Australian schools, the Centre boasts four specialist laboratories for the study of chemistry, biology, physics and environmental studies, two general laboratories, a large aquarium, university standard microscope system and multimedia technology. A learning lounge, all-weather courtyard and outdoor learning deck further enhance learning and pastoral care opportunities.

Shoreham Camp

Our three-hectare beachfront site at Shoreham on the Mornington Peninsula is the perfect location for our recreational camps and off-campus programs. Students engage in leadership programs and team building, as well as studying environmental and marine studies in the Shoreham Learning Centre.
